Wearable Technology Show: London 2018

Wearables Show

The Wearable Technology Show London was a haven for inventors to exhibit dazzling, intuitive, wearable, pieces of innovation. For 2 days on the 13th & 14th of March, The Excel Centre in London played host to the leading brains in the world of wearable technology. With over 200 speakers, the conference delivered the most comprehensive, entertaining and inspiring show.

I will bring some stand out products from the exhibition to your notice. And you really need to get yourself some wearables already. Because some of the coolest, trendiest, useful stuff you need, and which you don’t have or which existed as a wish, or probably you indulged yourself in wishful thinking about, saying: if only I could have something like this, with this and these functions, are available. So without further ado, lets begin to find out what was on exhibition at the conference.

QuietOn

QuietOn is an ear plug which has the active noise cancelling features, as its most important function. Active noise cancelling uses a microphone to sample the sound, and a speaker to create a phase-shifted sound that cancels the original sound.

The microphone that samples the sound is located right inside the ear canal! Which means that QuietOn can more accurately produce anti-noise that results in good noise cancellation at the ear drum. By locating the microphone in the air volume of the ear canal, QuietOn is also able to reduce noise that is conducted by the skull into the ear.  It is a great asset for noisy environments. After the show, the company reported sales of over ¬£130,000 in 24 hours.

SwimAR: the water wearable

SwimAR is a holographic device for professional swimmers and triathletes. It can be attached on to swimming goggles. Moreover if you are in the pool on average 2-6 times a week and train throughout the year, often covering 50km a month in-season, this device will be of great help. And it eliminates the need to cut your training short, whenever you need to check on the time.

Real Wear HMT-1 helmet

This helmet is the first, hands-free, tablet like, Android computer for industrial workers.  Also the HMT-1 is optimized for hands-free use.  It  has great noise cancellation optimization, and sound interference from the environment does not interfere with the device.

Furthermore, it has a powerful audio, and it has a great outdoor display. Truly the first rugged, industrial wearable device.

Finally, the next Wearable Conference is tagged: WTS USA 2018. And it will take place on the 10th & 11th of April, 2018.
